Current Officers for FY25

  • Julianne Alexander - President

    Julianne has 25 + years’ experience in aerospace and manufacturing industries including: project management, Air Vehicle integration, certification, risk management, system integration and testing, Flight Test, and product design.

    In her current position, as a senior engineering manager for Defense Advanced Programs and Engineering Ops, she manages a diverse team. The engineering team works on various concepts and new technology development for proposals to win new Defense work for Spirit AeroSystems. In addition, the engineering ops team works to provide data management and change management for all Defense programs.

    Julianne started her technical career in the United States Air force in 1996. Stationed at McConnell AFB, she maintained equipment on the KC-135 Tanker. Eventually cross training to also become a crew chief, Julianne trained others to maintain the aircraft.

    Julianne was an adjunct instructor in Electronics Technology at ITT Technical Institute and held positions in management at the Boeing Company, Bombardier and at Spirit AeroSystems.

    Julianne helped establish the Women in Aviation, International Air Capital City Chapter and held the position of Secretary on the First Board after the chapter was formally established.

    Julianne has been involved with the local SWE section as the membership chair, instrumental in helping to organize and sell merchandise at WELocal Wichita and is and active member of the Spirit SWEPT organization.

    Julianne holds a Master of Business from Newman University and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Wichita State University.

  • Jessica Melville-Flory - President-Elect

    Jessica Melville-Flory is a Structural Analysis Engineer at Spirit AeroSystems. She holds a BS in Aerospace Engineering from Iowa State University.

    Jessica has been a member of SWE since 2020. She participated in the Iowa State University Collegiate Section as a member, Outreach Chair, and Corporate Relations Director. In 2022, she was selected to take part in the Society's Collegiate Leadership Institute. She joined the Wichita Professional section in 2024 and has previously served as the Outreach Chair and volunteered with Expo.

  • Liza Elliot - Treasurer

    Liza Elliott is an Operations Engineering Manager overseeing the Twin Aisle Operations at Spirit AeroSystems. She holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in industrial engineering from Wichita State University. “As an Operations Engineering Manager at Spirit AeroSystems, I leverage my industrial engineering background and project management skills to drive impactful projects and initiatives. One of my core strengths lies in my ability to lead by example and inspire my team to achieve excellence. I firmly believe in the power of collaboration and actively seek input from team members to foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.”

    Liza has been an active member of SWE since 2020, first a collegiate member and then as a professional member of the Wichita SWE section. At the section level, she has assisted the team in various activities as a volunteer. She has been part of the EXPO Committee for the last 3 years. At the Society level, she was part of the WELocal Wichita Local Host Committee.

  • Elisa Dunham - Treasurer-Elect

    Elisa Dunham (she/her; previously Acosta) has been around engineering and aviation her entire life. She graduated from Wichita State in 2015 with her aerospace engineering degree and started working full-time shortly after. She is a material & process (M&P) engineer turned manager working at Spirit AeroSystems for the past 10 years.

    Currently, Elisa is the Defense Advanced Product Development first-level manager. She manages a small, diverse engineering team working on various concepts and new technology development for proposals to win new Defense work for Spirit AeroSystems. In the past at Spirit, she served as a Council Representative for the engineering union, a 2018 SPEEA WEU Negotiations Committee member, the stress & design engineering hiring manager, President of the Good Neighbor Fund, and more.

    Outside of Spirit, Elisa remains actively engaged, supporting various campus and community organizations. At Wichita State, she served as an advisor to the Fairmount Chapter of the Mortar Board Senior Honor Society from 2016-2024 and attends College of Engineering and Wallace Scholarship events. Elisa participates in various community fundraiser campaigns, including Tour de Cure and Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters, both of which she earned the Top Individual Fundraiser award for in previous years.

    Elisa has been part of the local SWE section for roughly 10 years, volunteering when she can at Engineering Expo and attending social events. She went to SWE Conference and WeLocal to recruit for Spirit for multiple years. She also was involved in Spirit’s employee business resource group for women in engineering, SWEPT.

  • Natalie Mallow - Secretary

    At Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. (Spirit), Natalie Mallow (She/Her/Hers) works as a defense stress engineer. Mallow, a non-traditional first-generation student, graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with a degree in aerospace engineering. She is a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community as a bisexual woman and is a member of the disabled community.

    In her role at Spirit, she works to ensure the overall structural integrity of the air vehicle for the men and women serving our country. Within a technical space, she mentors both junior and senior engineers on meshing best practices to ensure a final product can be utilized for accurate results by her fellow stress engineers. Natalie received the Kansas Aviation Employee of the Year award in 2025 and the Kansas NextGen Under 30 Award for her technical accomplishments and contributions to the local and global communities.

    While at work, she served as the Chair of the Spirit Women in Engineering Professions and Technologies (SWEPT) employee business resource group in 2024. Additionally, Natalie served as the Technical Awards Chair, continuing her awards work from last year. Mallow has served as a mentor to first-generation minority engineering students at Wichita State University through the Spirit Strong Scholars program for three consecutive years.

    In 2021, Mallow concluded her term as a Global Board of Director for SWE. Currently, she serves the Society as the Ethics Committee Chair, as well as a committee member for the Awards and Recognition committee. Within SWE, she has also served as a Leadership Development Program Coordinator, a leadership coach, finance committee member, and more.

    Mallow works alongside her husband, Connor, at Spirit. They have two children together, Charlotte (2.5) and Georgiana (10 months).
