Take a tour of our Solar System (without leaving the planet or even the country!)
Bonnie Johnson and Phil Ciholas designed and installed their own state of the art solar system, with a 60-panel 35KW rated array, 64 KWh battery bank, hybrid inverters, and advanced grid interconnection device.
This system provides a full house power backup that can seamlessly switch to battery/solar on loss of grid power and supply the house indefinitely under all but the most extreme weather conditions.
This system has generated over 22MWh so far this year; a little more than the Wolf Creek nuclear power plant puts out in 1 minute.
There will be an engineering presentation, including equipment selection and sizing and optimizing system capability while complying with local Code and Net-Metering rules, as well as system monitoring and performance.
Tour will be at 10AM-Noon at our home and hangar.
For those able to and wanting to leave the plant briefly, fly-ins are welcome! Reach out to president@wichitaswe.org for contact information regarding airport identifier and current conditions.
